Klipdrif Stud and Maine Chance Farms, two of the Cape’s premier stud farms, will be offering, as agent, some top quality lots at Thursday’s Cape Yearling Sale.
Klipdrif, one of South Africa’s leading yearling consigners, is home to the very exciting young sire Elusive Fort, who, himself has five yearlings on the Cape Sale.

Klipdrif will be offering 10 lots at the sale- all as agent. First of their draft is lot 4, an Elusive Fort colt whose half-sister produced G1 Investec Cape Derby winning millionaire It’s My Turn.

Next into the ring is lot 84,a  filly by last season’s Leading First Crop Sire, Gimmethegreenlight. She is out of a half-sister to G2 sprinter Nimley, from the family of Met winners Alastor and Wild West.

Champion Horse Chestnut, a proven G1 sire and broodmare sire, is the sire of lot 130 –a half brother to 6 winners, whose dam is an own sister to G1 2yo Hamildon Hill.

Dynasty’s triple G1 winning son Jackson, whose first crop are yearlings, is sire of 104, a colt whose 10 winning siblings include one who won eight, while proven G1 sire Judpot is responsible for lot 142, a beautifully bred filly from the same family as champion and classic winning filly Kiss Of Peace.

Klipdrif, as agent, will offer the first ever yearling by blue blooded G1 Breeders’ Cup runner up Noble Tune (Unbridled’s Song), in the form of lot 95 –a colt whose dam is a half-sister to an Oaks winner!

Champion 2yo Pathfork is responsible for lots 9 and 60, with the former a half-brother to 4 winners out of a three time winning daughter of champion sire Jallad. Lot 60 is another colt out of a three time winning Jallad mare, with his relatives including Guineas winner Michaelmas.

Proven G1 sire Sail From Seattle is sire of a colt whose 3 time winning dam is out of a stakes winning sister to champion Young Rake (Lot 97), while four time G1 winning European champion Twice Over has a filly from the famous Party Time family (Lot 18) on offer.

Maine Chance, home to champion sire Silvano, the hugely promising Oasis Dream son Oasis Dream and G1 winner and sire Black Minnaloushe, will be acting as agent on five yearlings at the Mistico Equestrian Centre based Cape Sale.

First of the draft to come into the ring this Thursday is lot 11, a daughter of Black Minnaloushe-sire of G1 winning fillies Ash Cloud and Black Mamba among others. The filly, out of a winning ½ sister to a stakes horse, is from the same family as SA legend Horse Chestnut and classic winning fillies Sport’s Chestnut and Monyela.

Second of the Maine Chance draft on offer is lot 94, a colt by former leading first crop sire Lateral. Out of a mare by champion sire Captain Al, this colt is from the same family as champion Bold Ellinore.

Champion 2yo Lateral is also sire of lot 110 –a colt bred on the same cross as the sire’s G2 winner Unparalleled and from the family of champions Ice Cube and Whistling Dixie as well as recent G2 Dingaans winner Singapore Sling.
