Cheveley Stud, breeders of recent champions Bela-Bela, Legislate and Rabiya, are proud to offer a nine strong draft at the 2017 National Yearling Sale, set to take place from May 3rd to 5th.

Possible jewel among the Cheveley NYS draft is lot 67- a daughter of champion sire Captain Al and the farm’s outstanding broodmare Mystic Spring. This filly, a sister in blood to champion All Is Secret, G1 The Secret Is Out and impressive debut winner Snowdance, is a half-sister to five stakes winners, including Equus Champions Rabiya and Bela-Bela.

L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate winner Gimmethegreenlight has made a magnificent start to his stud career with already six stakes winners emerging from his first crop. He is the sire of lot 79 –a half-brother to 3 winners, this colt is out of a stakes winning Elliodor half-sister to 4 stakes winners, including champion, and sire, Argonaut and G1 SA Fillies Guineas winner Finest View.

“Gimme” is also sire of lot 237 –a filly out of a Fort Wood half-sister to exported G2 Selangor Cup winner Mercury Chief. The Gimmethegreenlight/Fort Wood cross has already produced graded stakes winners Green Pepper and Hack Green.

In-form Sail From Seattle, whose last crop sell this year, is responsible for lot 174 –a bay filly, whose 3 winning siblings include Oaks winner Rush For John. This is also the family of champion and multiple G1 winning filly Vesta and her G2 (now G1) Majorca Stakes winning half-sister Roman Fantasy.

Another by Gone West’s son, Sail From Seattle, is lot 427 – a colt out of a five time winning ½ sister to 3 stakes horses, including 10 time stakes winner Follow The Piper.

Leading sire Var, responsible for recent graded winners Rivarine and Exquisite Touch, is the sire of lot 225 –a filly, whose five winning siblings include former star Zimbabwean filly Control Freak. This is the same family as current high class performers Bull Valley and Star Express, as well as South Africa’s first Equine Millionaire, and successful sire Model Man.

Var, sire of champions Variety Club, Val De Ra and Via Africa, is the sire of lot 485 –a half-brother to 3 stakes winners, two graded, including this season’s G3 Diana Stakes winner Captain’s Flame. This colt is bred on the same Var/Fort Wood cross as G1 winner Contador.

Jet Master’s high class son Master Of My Fate, whose first crop sell this year, is the sire of lot 256 –a colt whose winning dam is a half-sister to the dam of Horse Of The Year and four time G1 winner and sire Futura. This is the same family as G1 Paddock Stakes winner Angelina-sired by Master Of My Fate’s grandsire Rakeen.

Dynasty, one of SA’s top sires and sire of recent star performers Just Sensual, Smiling Blue Eyes and Barrack Street, has a lovely filly in the form of lot 448 –whose 3 winning siblings include Ivory Trail, who accounted for triple Horse Of The Year Pocket Power when victorious in the G1 Champions Cup.
