Blue blooded Await The Dawn was represented by a third first crop winner when his 2yo daughter Await The Day scored an impressive two and a quarter length win, in open company, over 1200m on Friday afternoon.

Await The Day is the third winner for her short lived sire, whose previous first crop scorers include debut winner, and feature race contender Morning Catch and the useful filly Perfect Dawn. To date, he has been represented by six first crop runners to win or finish in the money, and this tally is sure to grow considerably before too long!

Buyers will have a rare chance to acquire yearlings by the now deceased Await The Dawn at the 2017 KZN Yearling Sale, set to take place at the Sibaya Casino next week on June 29th and 30th.

A triple group winning son of triple champion US sire Giant’s Causeway, Await The Dawn was a superb athlete, whose victories including a three length romp in the G2 Hardwicke Stakes at Royal Ascot and a nine length demolition job in the G3 Kilternan Stakes.

From the same family as outstanding sires Rainbow Quest, Scenic and Warning, Await The Dawn will be represented by six lots at next week’s sale, including a filly out of a Fillies Mile placed daughter of Kahal (Lot 33), a colt out of a daughter of champion Monyela (Lot 80), a filly from the same family as outstanding filly Gypsy’s Warning (Lot 90), a half-brother to G3 performer Awesome Beauty (Lot 164), a colt from the same family as this season’s G3 winner Doosra (Lot 172), and a half-sister to 11 winners including G3 galloper Mr Mulliner (Lot 206).
