The Cape based Winterbach Stud, who enjoyed good success in the sales ring earlier this year at the National Yearling Sale, will be represented by five quality lots at this week’s National Two Year Old Sale in Germiston.
First of the farm’s lots on sale is lot 33, a daughter of European champion and proven sire Oratorio. This filly, half-sister to useful winner Favola, is out of a four time winning daughter of top class sire Kahal (also broodmare sire of G2 Gold Bracelet winner Fort Ember and unbeaten Australian filly rown Witness). The family of Del Mar Oaks winner Lizzy Hare.
Winterbach Stud, as agent, are also offering lot 67, a colt by 2016-2017 champion sire Silvano. This well bred colt is a full-brother to stakes winner and G1 SA Derby runner up Gothic, with his three other winning siblings including Listed Riverside Handicap hero Lochlorien.
Successful sire Judpot, whose daughter Tamarina made an impressive winning debut last week, is sire of 171- a colt who is out of a four time winning Jet Master half-sister to G3 performer Golden Award. This well related colt’s second dam is a winning half-sister to multiple G1 winning sire Jungle Rock.
Horse Chestnut, sire of G1 winning females Lucifer’s Stone and Chestnuts N Pearls, is the sire of 303 –a filly whose dam is a Captain Al half-sister to G3 Debutante runner up Rebel To The Fore, while the final offering in this draft is a colt (Lot 420) out of a winning Silvano mare from the family of high-class galloper Melun.
