Bloodstock SA’s aims to set high standards with new-look website

Bloodstock SA has made the first of a series of changes to their website, www.tba.co.za. The revamped site has been officially launched and in months to come will undergo further changes and tweaks.

The ultimate aim of the website’s new look is to make BloodStock South Africa’s electronic mouthpiece more vibrant, user-friendly and accessible to its established local readers and a growing band of international web surfers interested in the South African bloodstock industry.

BloodStock SA’s Marketing Manager Eamonn Cullen commented. “At BSA we’d like to stay abreast of modern trends and developments and in this instance we were lucky to build upon the excellent base laid by the popular foundation website.”  In addition, BloodStock South Africa has created a page on Facebook.  With more than 70 million active users, Facebook is the world’s leading social network and is used extensively to make contact with individuals who may not be reached through conventional advertising.  Become a fan and keep up-to-date on events and news.

“All media vehicles including magazines and newspapers are changed from time to time to conform with prevailing trends. As we’ve seen from the many products available on the internet, websites are really no different to printed products. We need to retain readers or buyers’ interest if you will, by keeping our shop window exciting.  Our website will be regarded as a work in progress. We will strive to make it constantly better and more informative.”

In line with other websites of its nature, www.tba.co.za will cover thoroughbred sales and events, relevant news items and downloadable catalogues. It will promote the sales of South African-bred horses within and outside of our borders and track the careers of South African horses racing abroad.

Cullen will also be aiming at more participation from breeders via profiles and interviews to be conducted and published on the site.
He said: “We were kindly given some good publicity on the Racing Post website, with readership in 100 countries, and we’ve had a number of mails from well-wishers.”
Cullen invited readers to subscribe to BloodStock SA’s monthly newsletter by logging on to the website and said that he would welcome suggestions by e-mail to eamonn@bloodstocksa.co.za
