Burwell Stud is excited about Jet Master filly
24 March 2010
AT Burwell Stud, Anton Proctor is particularly excited about a Jet Master filly from the multiple Graded winner Pacific Blue, consigned to the Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale next month. She’s named Shadows In The Sun (Lot 401), a full-sister to a smart colt that sold for R1 million at last year’s sale.
Proctor comments: “This is a fantastic filly, big and rangy. I think she is nicer than her brother Sir Frank that got so much attention last year. Pacific Blue has produced two winners from two runners so far and she’s got what it takes. Shadows In The Sun looks the real deal!”
Burwell will bring three other fillies to the Sale. Lot 303, Winter Ballad, is a daughter of Western Winter and Grade 1 winner Legality and Proctor tells: “Legality hasn’t produced anything of note from two runners, but her career as a broodmare has only begun and this filly could be her first top performer. She’s a typical Western Winter offspring and we have high hopes for her.”
VAR’s daughter Varski (Lot 369) is from the mare Mufski who has already produced several quality performers including Come Spring and Protector.
Rain Delayed is another daughter of Jet Master and her pedigree is packed with blue blood. Her dam is a half-sister to stallion Kabool and her female line goes back to Fall Aspen, the dam of Fort Wood and one of the most prolific producers of champions come stallions in history.
