Herman Brown’s Orbison won the Gr. 1 Champions Cup on Saturday 3 July at Clairwood, ahead of Galileo’s Galaxy and the legendary Pocket Power.  The son of Mogok (x Blue Bayou) was bred by Scott Bros and bought at the 2008 National Yearling Sale for R400,000.  Congratulations to owners Messrs P A Rhodes, HJ Brown (Jnr) and R M Scott and all connections.

The Golden Slipper (Gr. 1) was won by Mahbooba (AUS) with Kevin Shea on board for owner Sheikh Mohammed Bin Khalifa Akl Maktoum and trainer Mike de Kock.

The Golden Horseshoe, was award to Copper Parade (Lecture x Copper Horizon) with Kavanagh and The Assayer finishing second and third respectively.  Copper Parade,  was bred by Ascot Stud and is owned by Mr. FH McGrath and Optima Trust (Nom.  Mrs .V Fenix).  Copper Parade is trained by Joey Ramsden.
