J J The Jet Plane (Jet Master x Magestic Guest) proved again that he has no peers among South African sprinters, scoring his second win in Durban’s premier sprint the Grade 1 Mercury Sprint over 1200m run at Clairwood on Sunday 18 July.
“After today’s race I have to rate him as the best sprinter I’ve ridden,” said jockey Piere Strydom, who throughout his career has insisted that 1980s legend Goldmark held that honour.’
JJ The Jet Plane is owned in partnership by his trainer, Lucky Houdalakis, Coenie Strydom, Hennie du Preez and Thea Boyens and was bred by Mrs P J Devine.  He was sold at the National Two Year Old Sale in 2006 for a mere R70,000. Congratulations to all connections.
