Fresh off another magnificent weekend, Bloodstock South Africa had more reason to celebrate when the BSA sold Go Ballistic won in Hong Kong on Wednesday.

The Drakenstein Stud bred Go Ballistic made it two wins from his last three starts when he won the Kam Sham Handicap at Happy Valley on Wednesday.

Trained by South African born David Ferraris, the gelded Go Ballistic kept finding more in the closing stages to score by a head, under a strong ride from Blake Shinn.

Owned by David Hui Cheung Wing, Go Ballistic was a R240 000 buy from the 2017 National Yearling Sale.

He is a son of the now pensioned Danehill horse Duke Of Marmalade (whose progeny also include last season’s Equus Champion Rain In Holland) and the Sadler’s Wells mare Buffalo Dance.

The latter, whose progeny include G2 Gold Bracelet third placegetter Shingwedzi, and the stakes placed Buffalo Dance, recently made headlines when her grandson Hoedspruit captured the Listed Nelson Mandela Bay Racing Algoa Cup.

Former Cartier Champion Duke Of Marmalade has three lots on this month’s November Two Year Old Sale -a colt (Lot 13) whose dam is a half-sister to G2 Gauteng Fillies Guineas winner Fisani, a filly (Lot 102) from the same family as high-class fillies Elusive Heart, Stormy Appeal and Storm Destiny, and a filly (Lot 118) whose granddam is a full-sister to G1 winning filly On Her Toes.
