The United States Full Sister Cartier 2YO Filly Nominee

Moutonshoek Gr1 winning son of Galileo, The United States, has his full sister Hermosa as a nominee for the Cartier Awards in the 2YO Fillies category.

Out of a Pivotal mare Beauty Is Truth, Hermosa is owned by Michael Tabor & Derrick Smith & Mrs John Magnier and trained by Aiden O Brien. Hermosa is a 2-time winner including the Gr3 Weld Park Stakes, and finishing second in the Gr1 Fillies Mile and Criterium in France. She also placed third in the Gr1 Moyglare.


Another full sister to both The United States and Hermosa is the multiple Gr1 winner Hydrangea.

Rated 124, The United States stood his first season in 2017 at Moutonshoek. He is a 7-time winner over 1400-2500m and raced to interntional aclaim  in Ireland, Australia and Hong Kong from age 2 to 7.

He is a winner of the Gr1 Ranvet Stakes, Gr2 winner of the Crystal Mile and Moonee Valley Gold Cup, and Gr3 winner at 2 years of age of the Enterprise Stakes in Ireland. This is also the damline of Immortal Verse, Last Tyncoon and Rabah.

The Galileo / Pivotal cross has proved itself emphatically, with Bush Hill Stud’s Flying The Flag bred on the same that has produced Gr1 winners Rhododendron, Photo Call and Magical.

The winners will be announced on Tuesday.
