Bosworth stallion Skitt Skizzle has his stud career off to a great start, with two of his three runners already winners.
Bred on the same cross that produced JJ The Jetplane, by Jet Master out of a Northern Guest mare, Skitt Skizzle went to stud in 2014. He is a half-brother to Gr1 winner Zeeno, winner of the Gr1 Gold Medallion. Skitt Skizzle won three times earning R272,725 from age 3-5 and placing 8 times for his owners.
His second dam is Melting – a respected female line that has produced the likes of Pisces Star and Ice Machine.
Neil Orford of Bosworth comments that, “his progeny look promising but it is early days, and as always we live in hope. He had a small first crop but there are a few more to run which will give us a better view of his potential. He is a big powerful stallion and both he and Pomodoro, who are similiarly bred, were stabled next to each other on our spelling farm. Our other recent graduates are Legal Eagle and Coral Fever.”

His first three runners have all been placed with Sean Tarry for owner Chris Van Niekerk, and two of them have won and placed from all of their starts – from only five runs between them!
Tierra Del Fuego in Sean Tarry’s KZN yard has had three runs, placing third and second respectively and winning smartly at Scottsville on Sunday under Luke Ferraris, going away clear over the 1400m trip to win by over six lengths.
Cordillera, out of a Right Approach mare, won smartly on debut and placed in his second start over 1600m.
An interesting stallion to keep an eye on, we may see more from the Skitt Skizzle’s to come.
