SAF-bred Dubai campaigners Light The Lights and Janoobi will kick start their Dubai campaigns this Thursday for trainer Mike De Kock and respective owners Sheik Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Sheik Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum.
Both horses did exceptionally well last year – Light The Lights, a 2014 National Yearling Sales BSA graduate of R1,2-million by Western Winter out of the exceptional mare First Arrival, won three races at Meydan and Abu Dhabi and is rated 111. His previous wins include the Gr3 Abu Dhabi Championship and the Listed Singspiel Stakes. Light The Lights will be lining up in the Singspiel Stakes again (R5) and will attempt the double, this time upgraded to a Gr3.

In South Africa, trained by Glen Kotzen, he won the Gr2 Peninsula Handicap under Stuart Randolph. Light The Lights, a half-brother to several Graded Stakes Winners is bred by Mr & Mrs Bruce Nicolas.
Janoobi, by Silvano will be running in Race 6 Longines Master Collection Moon Phase Handicap.
He will be carrying top weight of 60kgs in the race and had an exceptional previous season – finishing third in a Gr1, winning the Gr2 Zabeel Mile (with Noa From Goa finishing third), second in the Gr2 Al Fahidi, and is a Gr2 and Gr3 winner in South Africa. Bred by Maine Chance Farms out of a Rakeen mare, he sold for R1,2-million from the CTS Cape Premier Yearling Sale. Janoobi has been rated 114.
