JUVENILE BONUS SERIES FROM THE TBA GETS ANOTHER BOOST FOR BUYERS

The successful and popular Maiden – Juvenile Plate incentive, introduced in 2017 by the TBA, has been further enhanced. The additional stakes bonus will apply to all yearlings sold at a Bloodstock South Africa sale in 2019, as outlined below:

 

R60 000 value added bonus for yearlings and two year old’s sold at the following 2019 BSA auctions:

 

  • Cape Mistico yearling sale – Cape
  • National yearling sale – NYS
  • KZN yearling sale – KZN
  • National two year old sale – 2YO
  • BSA Ready to Run (Breeze up sale) – RTR

 

Contributions to the added bonus series

Only horses sold at the above BSA sales, with all payments received within the prescribed period as determined by BSA, shall qualify (this includes vendors and buyers contributions to the series).

Any late entries into the series shall not be accepted.

 

  1. The first one hundred and twenty (120) maiden winners of any MAIDEN JUVENILE PLATE AND JUVENILE PLATE  race in South Africa in the 2020 racing season, meeting the above criteria, shall qualify to win a bonus of R60,000.00.

 

  1. The R60,000.00 bonus shall be apportioned 90% to the winning owner and 10% to the winning trainer. (R54,000.00 for the owner and R6,000.00 for the trainer).

 

  1. In the instance of a dead heat, the bonus shall be shared equally between the winning horses.

 

  1. If a horse is tested positive for a prohibited substance, the bonus shall be returned and shall be repaid to the horse subsequently declared the official winner of the race.

 

  1. The bonus is paid once per horse, for a maiden juvenile or a juvenile plate win.

 

  1. Juveniles winning in 3 year old and open company do NOT qualify for the series.

 

  1. All graded and listed race winners for horses sold in 2019 shall NOT qualify for the bonus series. (This will be discontinued for the foreseeable future).

 

 

Attached photo shows the owners of the Time Thief filly  YesisrIcanboogie, sold off the 2018 KZN Sale, enjoying their R50 000 bonus cheque for her maiden – juvenile win. Owners who tick the box in 2019, stand to win a R60 000 bonus in 2020.
