Lammerskraal Stud’s successful stallion Visionaire had a weekend to remember this past week at the KZN Breeders Race Day, with the G1 winning son of Grand Slam responsible for five individual winners.

Visionaire went close to making it six winners for the weekend, with his son The Sultans Bazaar running a close up second, beaten a short-head, in the KZN Breeders Million Mile (while picking up R200 000).

His two-year-olds Ad Altisima and Spiritofthegroove ran 1-2 in The Fort Stud KwaZulu-Natal Breeders Juvenile Plate, with Ad Altisima scoring a neck win for trainer Michael Roberts.

Ad Altisima was one of two juvenile winners for Visionaire over the weekend, with the former Leading First/Second Crop Sire also responsible for Just Kidding, who romped home to a 1.75 length score over 1400m at Turffontein on Sunday.
Trained by Gary Alexander, and bred by the Summerhill Stud, Just Kidding had been second at her only previous starts.

Visionaire, whose 2yo daughter Virtuosa was beaten just a head when second over 1200m at Greyville on Saturday, has now been represented by eight juvenile winners this season.

His other weekend winners included Caliente (pictured in the colours of Nick Jonsson) Pollard and The Sands, with that trio all scoring at Greyville on Saturday.

A proven sire, whose top performers include such graded stakes winners as Takingthepeace, Africa Rising, The Thinker and Heaps Of Fun, Visionaire has seven yearlings on offer at this week’s KZN Yearling Sale.
