Avontuur’s Cue The Music Wins In Hong Kong

Avontuur-bred Cue The Music, a son of Oratorio out of Minelli, the dam of Val Da Ra (in turn the dam of Miss Frankel!) has won for former South African trainer David Ferraris, based in Hong Kong. Cue The Music’s other half-siblings include Tevez and Palladium. It has come full circle as David Ferraris also trained Minelli.

Cue The Music was trained in South Africa by Dennis Bosch and owned by Mario Ferreira. He had two wins including the Gr3 Godolphin Barb Stakes, and gave Oratorio the 2nd of a 1-2 result in the Gr1 Gold Medallion.

Oratorio has produced 9 international Gr1 winners, including 2013 Horse Of The Year in Hong Kong, Military Attack.

Cue The Music  won today over 1200m for owners Mr & Mrs Julian Chow Kai Wo, Chow Wing Shuen and Chow Cheuk Wai. He has placed twice previously in Hong Kong from 4 runs, and earned $252,000.

Oratorio’s recent successes have been numerous, amongst them Mardi Gras, Divine Odyssey, Van Halen, Carlita and Mrs O. He is currently 4th on the National Sires Log with R4,017,025 in stakes earned for the current season and a 38.1% winners to runners percentage.

David’s son Luke Ferraris, crowned last seasons Champions Apprentice Jockey in South Africa, is sponsored by Avontuur.

Oratorio had another winner earlier in the Hong Kong season with the grey Tony Millard trained Ezra, out of Emerald Beauty and bred by Mauritzfontein and Wilgerbosdrift.
