Bloodstock South Africa graduate Malmoos stamped himself a horse to follow when maintaining his unbeaten record at Turffontein on Saturday.
The Sheik Hamdan bin Rashid al Maktoum owned three-year-old made it two wins from two starts when running out a devastating six and a quarter length winner over 1450m while scoring for Mike de Kock and Luke Ferraris.
Malmoos, who was bred by Varsfontein Stud, had made a winning debut in September when romping home over 1200 and the regally bred colt looks an exciting prospect.
A son of multiple champion sire Captain Al, Malmoos was the second top lot sold at the 2019 Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale where he was knocked down to Shadwell South Africa for R4 400 000.
Malmoos, who hails from one of the best families in the South African stud book, is a full- brother to G3 East Cape Derby/G3 Lonsdale Stirrup Cup winner Captain America and his Spook Express Handicap winning dam Justthewayyouare is a half-sister to Varsfonteins red hot resident sire Master Of My Fate.
His granddam is Equus Champion Promisefrommyheart -and this is also the family of fellow champions Kings Gambit and London News to name but two.
