Gauteng based Heversham Park sire Wings Of Desire will have his first yearling on offer at the Bloodstock South Africa National Yearling Sale.
The son of Pivotal out of In The Wings mare Gull Wing won two races including the Gr2 Dante Stakes, and finished second in the Gr1 King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes behind the superb Highland Reel and was the only three year old to contest the race – also finished 4th in the stallion making Gr1 Epsom Derby. He was trained by John Gosden in Britain for then owner-breeder Lady Bamford.
Wings Of Desire, an imposing chestnut stallion with very good bone, a big striding walk and a great temperament, boasts a true Classic pedigree as a brother to the Royal Ascot Gr2 winner Eagle Top (also 2nd in the Gr1 King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes) and Gr2 Park Hill Stakes winner, The Lark.

Interestingly, this is the family of Hyperion, Mossborough and Sir Tristram.
His outstanding sire and broodmare Pivotal recently retired from stud duties.
Heversham Park are offering Lot 182 at the National Yearling Sale – a half-brother to the handsome grey Herodotus – a winner who has placed 2nd in the Gr2 Peninsula Handicap, the Listed Settlers Trophy, and a third in one of the Vodacom Durban July qualifying races, the Gr1 Cape Derby.
Out of Pinkyandthebrain by Hawk Wing, this is a female line with plenty of Australasian Black Type in it including Silver Siren – an Australian bred Champion Older Female in
Ireland as well as local sire and Gr2 Gauteng Guineas and Dingaans winner, Oracy.
