Summer Pudding Wins For 10th Time

Summer Pudding stamped herself as the queen of Turffontein when taking the G2 Colorado King Stakes on Saturday for Mauritzfontein and Paul Peter, with Warren Kennedy in the irons for their 9th win together.

Losing two lengths at the start, the daughter of Silvano made it look easy to win going away by 3.5 lengths in a field that included another former Summer Cup winner, Zillzaal and the smart Divine Odyssey.

Summer Puddings next aim seems to be at the Gr1 Premiers Champions Challenge on 1 May over 2000m.

Out of an impeccably bred Kingmambo mare, she is a half-sister to multiple Group winner Witchcraft.
