The exciting Dynasty filly Desert Miracle took on the boys and dished out a rare hammering by the fairer sex to give trainer Mike de Kock a hat-trick of victories in the Gr3 Graham Beck Stakes at Turffontein on Saturday.
Having now won her last four starts by a collective 24 lengths, Desert Miracle built on the tradition of Frosted Gold and Malmoos last year to record the master conditioner’s third straight victory in the early season 3yo feature.
Starting at 4-10, Desert Miracle installed some respectability in a shell-shocked Pick 6 and was never under pressure as she cruised into the lead under Gavin Lerena to beat Pyromaniac (16-1) to win unextended by 4,75 lengths in a time of 86,49 secs.
A winner of 4 races with 2 places from 6 starts, Desert Miracle took her stakes bank to R483 750.
A daughter of late champion Dynasty (Fort Wood), Desert Miracle was bred by Wilgerbosdrift and Mauritzfontein and is out of the seven time winning Oasis Dream mare, Welwitschia.
She looks likely to travel to the Cape for the Fillies Guineas.
