PENT HOUSE II (GB) 1952

The imported PENT HOUSE II (GB) 1952, a chestnut horse by THE PHOENIX (GB) out of CRACKNEL (GB) by MANNA (GB), who stood at the Armitage Family’s, RATHVALE STUD.

At stud in South Africa from 1960 – 1969, a very good sire, that is neither remembered enough, nor given enough credit!  How many stallions can boast to having sired one, and been the broodmare sire of another, of our accepted LEGENDARY CHAMPIONS of the South African turf?  PENT HOUSE II can, being the sire of the mighty HOME GUARD (SAF) 1965, and the broodmare sire of the great GATECRASHER (SAF) 1971.

He was the South African Champion sire for the 1968 / 1969 racing season, but also had Top 10 finishes on other occasions, as well as occupying a fairly regular spot on the Top 10 Broodmare Sire List.
