Summer Pudding Brother 4 Wins In A Row

Summer Pudding’s What A Winter half-brother has found a new lease on life since relocating to Gauteng, getting four wins in a row for owner Suzette Viljoen and champion trainer Paul Peter.

Vanderbilt, who sold for R600 000 at the 2020 National Yearling Sale under Mauritzfontein’s flag appears to be gaining confidence, winning his last two starts by over three lengths apiece and appears to be relishing a mile. His famous sister by Silvano won 11 races, of which nine were in a row including the Triple Tiara and four Gr1’s.

Bred by Wilgerbosdrift & Mauritzfontein who ended last season as the leading breeders in South Africa once more, Vanderbilt’s sire What A Winter has frequented the news of late and is in good form, with six winners already for the month of August and another recent Listed win with Humdinger. He ended the 2021 season with 7 Black Type wins and close to 47% winners to runners.

Trainer Paul Peter has an unraced Gimmethegreenlight half-sister to Summer Pudding and Vanderbilt in his stable, leaving us with lots to look forward to!

Vanderbilt will also hold a special place in the heart of Paul Peter, as he got his  South African record of 216 wins in a season with him.
