What A Winter Enjoys Top Day At Hollywoodbets Greyville

Drakenstein sire What A Winter is enjoying a great season and produced three winners and two seconds – one of which was the same race – recently at Hollywoodbets Greyville.

The day kicked off with a half-sister to Gr1 winner and Group producing mare in Australia, Via Africa, winning at the fifth time of asking after placing in all of her previous starts. I Like It Hot (pictured) is trained by Dennis Drier and bred by Mr Andrew Hauptfleisch, who bred and owned Via Africa.

It was followed up with the second win of the day coming from Sandy Arundel’s R550 000 purchase, the handsome Rugger Bugger who won second time out, trained by Wendy Whitehead. Bred by Hemel ‘n Aarde Stud, he is out of Hammie’s Hooker by Trippi.

The third came resulted in a 1-2 for What A Winter, with Winter Flight (bred by Ridgemont Highlands) winning for the 6th time and the handsome Tread Swiftly following up, the latter also bred by Hemel ‘n Aarde Stud.

What A Winter has 49 wins in hand for the season and almost R4-million in stakes earned with two Black Type wins so far for the current season.
