Ascot Stud‘s Heavenly Blue has produced his first winner at Turffontein. Zinovi bred by Danika Stud won for trainer Mike De Kock and owners ASSM Racing Syndicate (Nom: Mr A Chadha) at the third time of asking and finished fourth in the Storm Bird Listed in his previous start.
Zinovi is a R200 000 graduate off the 2022 National Yearling Sale, and is a half brother to Gr2 winner, Zouaves. A Gr1 winner by Snitzel, Heavenly Blue won three times in South Africa including the Gr1 SA Classic over 1800m. Out of an El Prado mare, he also placed in the Gr2 Dingaans (1600m), Gr3 Graham Beck S. (1400m), Gr1 SA Derby (2450) and Gr2 Gauteng Guineas (1600m). His second dam by Theatrical won 11 times including two Gr1’s.
Heavenly Blue has six yearlings on offer at the upcoming Nationals.
