FINE FEMALE LINES TO BE FOUND IN HEMEL ‘N AARDE’S CAPE SALE DRAFT

David Hepburn-Brown is more than pleased with the draft that Hemel ‘N Aarde Stud will be offering at this year’s Cape Yearling Sale at the end of the month.

A striking feature of this draft is the quality of female line represented here, with Hemel ‘N Aarde set to offer yearlings from some top-class local and international families.

Hemel ‘N Aarde’s resident stallion Horizon is well represented, with the former G3 Politician Stakes winner responsible for six of the 11 yearlings the farm is bringing to sell.

David picks out the Horizon colt (Lot 94) out of Miracle Play as a horse to follow and describes the colt as a “very nice horse.” This colt’s dam, a winning daughter of champion racehorse and high-class sire Singspiel, is a full-sister to G1 Prix Marcel Boussac runner up Darffonah and half-sister to G1 Racing Post Trophy and G2 Dante Stakes winning sire Dilshaan.
Miracle Play is a direct descendant of Yorkshire Oaks winner Feevagh -whose numerous high-class descendants include Arc winner Levmoss, outstanding stayer Le Moss, Irish 2000 Guineas winner Nikoli, top-class South African performers Mosszao, Under Your Spell and Witchcraft, successful sire Casey Tibbs, and G1 winners Sword Of Osman and Zagalia.

Other attractive prospects to found here include the Gold Standard filly (Lot 41) bred on similar lines to classy performer Pacaya, the Fire Away filly (Lot 42) whose Dynasty sired dam won four and ran third in the G3 Final Fling Stakes, and the colt (Lot 98) by The United States out of a winning own-sister to high-class performers Umgiyo and Queen Mira. The latter colt hails from the same family as international G1 winners Alberto Giacometti, Attica Meli, Dictus, Honeylight, and outstanding Derby winner Crepello.

The aforementioned draft can be found in Block F at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth.
