Feather Boa Sold To USA

Gold Circle reports that Team Valor International has bought Feather Boa.

She will race at least once more in South Africa, her likely target being the Gr1 Horse Chestnut Stakes. Then she will travel to the United States to be trained by Todd Pletcher. She will remain with Stuart Pettigrew until she is ready to be exported.

Barry Irwin says “Feather Boa (Flower Alley – Osprey by Silvano) is a terrific physical specimen and a very consistent performer at a high level in South Africa. We hope that we can continue her career in the United States. She strikes me physically as being an ideal candidate for racing on the dirt and she will be given every opportunity to explore that discipline.”

Feather Boa, consigned by Wilgerbosdrift at the 2021 August 2YO Sale (Pictured), sold for R200 000 to Stuart Pettigrew. She has earned R1,681,250 in stakes. This is the female line of Martial Eagle and Nebula.

Team Valor have enjoyed enormous success with South African-bred fillies, including Gypsy’s Warning, Ipi Tombe, Captain’s Lover, Irridescence and Ebony Flyer, and were responsible for the importation of Visionaire – the sire of Gr1 winners Takingthepeace and Good Traveller, as well as the broodmare sire of See It Again.
