Buffalo Bill Cody is off to stud with a bang, with his colt Pistol Pete unbeaten from two starts. He followed up emphatically less than a month later, winning over his same course and distance of 1000m  by over six lengths for owner Suzette Viljoen and trainer Tony Peter.

The colt out of Oklahoma Sky by Tiger Ridge is from the family of highly successful sire Pivotal, and it is also the family of international 24-time winner Captain Lars and Always In Charge (Captain Al), champion 2YO Colt of his year.

Pistol Pete has a half brother by The United States, Cowboy Country on offer at the BSA Cape Yearling Sale as Lot 106 consigned by Wilgerbosdrift.

Pistol Pete sold for R380 000 at the 2023 Cape Yearling Sale and earned the BSA Maiden Juvenile Plate bonus of R100 000 in his first start.
