Syrilla Stud has enjoyed plenty of success in 2023-2024 thus far. Among the star equines representing Syrilla this season are Grade 2 wsb.co.za Southern Cross Stakes winner Kwinta’s Light and the useful Linkin Navigator, while Syrilla Stud also bred the 2023 Listed Off To Stud Stakes winner Emerald Princess.
With Syrilla set to offer a high-class string at this year’s National Yearling Sale, Tiaan Ellis is, understandably upbeat about his consignment.
However, Tiaan did feel the following lots were especially impressive:
Lot 22 Emerald Forge f Gimmethegreenlight – Winter’s Forge
Emerald Forge is a scopey, big walking, very correct and athletic daughter of Gimmethegreenlight and Winter’s Forge.
Winter’s Forge is a two-time winner and multiple stakes placed and from the same family as Shantastic.
Lot 78 – Gotta Go c Gimmethegreenlight – Carmalita
He is a colt by Gimmethegreenlight out of the Commands mare Carmalita. He is a strong, correct colt, with lots of rein and quality, and looks to be a speedy type.
Lot 122 – Gallic Greeting f Vercingetorix – Eastern Greeting
A filly by Vercingetorix out of the Gr2 winning Kahal mare Eastern Greeting. The latter is a full sister to Kwinta, the dam of Kwinta’s Light.
She is tall and beautifully balanced. Excellent walker.
