Maine Chance based son of Silvano, Vercingetorix sired four winners on Saturday at Hollywoodbets.

Ubukhwebezana secured a decisive victory at Hollywoodbets Greyville for the Hollywood Syndicate. This filly has not been an easy customer and it was a most enjoyable triumph for trainer MJ Odendaal who commented that at one point of her career, they couldn’t get her to the track at all. Prior to her win on June 15, Ubukhwebezana had competed in eight races, achieving four wins, two second places and a third place. This is the immediate family of recent Gr1 Hollywoodbets Gold Challenge winner, Dave The King.

Noble Warrior’s performance was nothing short of spectacular over 2200m, and clearly relished the extra distance on offer to break his maiden under Rachel Venniker. Out of Diesis mare Scent From Above, he is trained by Michael Roberts for Messrs Hampson and Schwegmann. He is bred by Mr and Mrs Davies.

Get Impressed certainly lived up to his name with a thrilling victory, fighting it out to the line with a confident Muzi Yeni aboard for owners Greg Bortz, Gina Goldsmith and Gary Player. The Millstream bred has been a highly consistent sort, having participated in 12 races and securing three wins, four second places, and two third places. Trained by Justin Snaith, the gelding is from the immediate family of Mustang Manny, Captain Al and Astrix.

Strathclyde’s win was his third career victory to date under champion jockey elect, Richard Fourie for KZN-based stalwart owner Mrs Mary Liley, owned in partnership with Adam Kethro. Bred by Ndoro Stud, he is a typical mould of the type of horse that trainer Tony Rivalland likes, a handsome well made gelding who sold for R500 000 at Nationals, from the family of Yard Arm, Donya, Abashiri and Jaeger Moon.

Vercingetorix recently sired his first feature winner as a broodmare sire, from his first runner.

Congratulations to all concerned.
