Ridgemont’s red-hot sire Rafeef continues to make his mark in all the right places. On Monday at Hollywoodbets Scottsville, the son of Redoute’s Choice delivered a four-timer with an impressive string of winners — proof once again of his growing legacy at stud.

The wins kicked off in Race 1 with Crafty Crofty, trained by Yogas Govender and ridden by S’manga Khumalo. Bred by Mr WJ Engelbrecht (Jnr), the filly is owned in partnership by K M Chetty, M Chetty, Y Naidoo, D P Pillay and Al Khayl Breeders (Pty) Ltd . She produced a determined finish to shed her maiden tag over the 1000m trip.

Next up was National Dream, who added to his consistent record with a gutsy win in the fourth race over 1800m. Owned by Robert Chung and trained by Alyson Wright, the six-year-old gelding has now won five races and continues to reward his connections.

Drive By, a familiar name in the KwaZulu-Natal ranks, was next to strike. Trained by Louis Goosen for owner Mr Mario Ferreira and bred by Rathmor Stud, the half-sister to Gr1 winner and Australian based broodmare, Mississippi Burning, showed real heart in a driving finish under Denis Shwarz.

Rounding off the quartet was Rani Tarabai — a striking horse with owned by Messrs Raj Singh, R P Macnab and Allan F Peters, trained by Gareth van Zyl. She claimed her first win over the 1800m trip under a confident ride from S’manga Khumalo, further underlining her sire’s versatility and class.

With standout results on both the racetrack and in the sales ring, Rafeef is fast becoming one of the most influential stallions in the country — and it’s clear his best is yet to come.
